South Somerset Homes residents celebrate
as over 200 homes are modernised
2 February 2005
South Somerset Homes' residents who live in Wincanton and Queen Camel have been celebrating as modernisation work to their homes has been completed. South Somerset Homes in partnership with ROK have completed maintenance and improvement works to 224 homes in Wincanton and Queen Camel. The works undertaken include installing brand new kitchens and bathrooms, rewiring, central heating, UPVC double-glazing and improved insulation.
To celebrate, partnering contractor ROK hosted a party for all the residents at the South Somerset Homes owned sheltered housing scheme at Cleaveside Close in Queen Camel. The partnership team served tea and cakes to the residents and thanked them for all their patience and cooperation during the time that the works were being carried out.
Charles Jessep, Tenant Representative said, “This project has been a huge success with 92% of the tenants being satisfied with the works undertaken. It is also a fantastic achievement that the project has been completed on time and on budget.”
Mrs Rosemary March, a resident at the scheme at Cleaveside Close said, “I am absolutely thrilled with everything that they have done, especially my brand new kitchen. All the workmen have been so lovely and polite and always cleared up their mess after they finished – a real pleasure.”
