South Somerset Homes residents raise over £200 for Macmillan Cancer

3rd October 2007

Residents of Barn Crescent, Bowhayes Lodge and Turnpike Green sheltered schemes in Crewkerne, which are owned and managed by South Somerset Homes, recently took part in a coffee conga for Macmillan cancer during the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign and in doing so they raised £208.51!

All of the money raised from World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will help Macmillan provide expert care and practical and emotional support for people living with cancer.

Mary George, Relief Scheme Manager said, ‘I would like to thank the residents’ committee who organised the event and I would also like to thank the two Macmillan fundraisers, Katie Warren and Claire Allen, for attending and supporting our event. We all had an absolutely lovely time – the residents are pretty nifty dancers despite their zimmer frames!’
