SSH tenants celebrate diamond wedding anniversary

Vera and Henry Long celebrate their Diamond wedding anniversary with a cuddle.

Henry and Vera Long who have been tenants of South Somerset Homes since 1953 are celebrating their Diamond wedding anniversary this week on Thursday 8th April. Mr Long who is 82 years of age and Mrs Long who is 80 years of age live at Furzehill in Chard.

When asked what they felt was the secret to staying together for sixty years. Mr Long said “Each morning at 7.00am I get up and make Vera a cup of tea. This always gets the day off to a good start!” Mrs Long said “We get on so well together, and have grown closer as the years have gone by.”
