South Somerset Homes celebrates new homes for Langport

The new South Somerset Homes development at Bramley Terrace/Cedar Terrace in Langport was officially opened by Cllr Roy Mills last week. The new development consists of 10 brand new homes for rent.

The new development, which was constructed in partnership with Connaught, Calfordseaden and Advance Panel Systems, includes two and three bedroom designs and all boast double-glazing, gas central heating, fully fitted kitchens and wardrobes, downstairs cloakrooms plus parking. All the families have now settled into their new homes.

The homes exceed current build standards and achieved an EcoHomes grading of Very Good, which will help minimise the running cost to the residents and the impact to the environment.

Roy Mills commented, “I am honoured to open the new homes. New affordable housing is much needed in Somerset and it is great that South Somerset Homes is increasing its housing stock with these superb homes. I am certain that the families will be very happy living there”.

Geoff Atkinson, Chief Executive of South Somerset Homes added, “It is great to hear that another ten families have benefited from a new home from South Somerset Homes. Housing in the south west is becoming increasing unaffordable, however, we aim to help people stay within their local area with affordable housing solutions, such as this one at Langport”.
