Extra Care Sheltered Scheme at Malmesbury Court, Yeovil raises £200 through a Memory Star Tree
7th December 2007
Residents of Malmesbury Court Extra Care Sheltered scheme in Yeovil have raised £200 for St Margaret’s Hospice thanks to a Memory Star Tree. The memory star tree is decorated by gold stars from which residents paid £1 to the charity so that they could write a personal special message to a loved one who sadly may longer be with them. The idea was thought up by Scheme Manager Linda Chesters and has been a firm favourite with residents every Christmas.
Scheme Manager Linda Chesters said “The memory star tree is a real focal point in the communal lounge and I believe the tree truly represents the real Christmas spirit. The tree really brings the residents together and it’s fantastic that they have raised £200 for a fantastic cause in St Margaret’s Hospice.”
