South Somerset Homes residents celebrate their engagement
8 January 2007

A couple who live at a South Somerset Homes’ owned sheltered scheme in Yeovil have recently celebrated their engagement.

Ann Brand (72 years old) and Jim Guppy (82 years old) who are residents of Pearson House extra care sheltered housing scheme in Yeovil, celebrated their engagement with a party with all their friends and family.

Pictured here are Jim and Ann celebrating their engagement

When Jim first moved to the sheltered scheme he was rather shy and quiet, however he started going to some of the social events organised by the scheme, which is where he met Ann and romance bloomed from there onwards. Within about a month they bought an engagement ring, and since this time they have been inseparable.

Jim said, ‘We haven’t fixed a wedding date yet; we are just happy enjoying each other’s company, but we can’t decide which flat we should both live in!
