South Somerset Homes hosted another successful ‘Silver Surfers’ day for it’s residents
10th December 2007
South Somerset Homes hosted a ‘Silver Surfers’ day at the Alvington offices in Yeovil. Residents were able to book one-hour sessions from 10am to 3pm and members of staff were available at each computer to help them access and ‘surf’ the Internet. The facilities provided by South Somerset Homes provided a wonderful opportunity for tenants to learn in a safe and supportive environment. This enabled the tenants to look at sites that were of an interest to them and at a pace that was suitable for them.
Karen Davy, Community Involvement Officer at South Somerset Homes said, “Everyone that came had a wonderful day and enjoyed the experience. We hope that the tenants have took some positive new skills away with them. We would like to run further sessions again in the future, due to the popularity of this event.”
