South Somerset Works join forces with Impey
11 May 2007
South Somerset Works has signed a partnering agreement with local bathroom specialist, Impey UK. The two companies carried out a joint presentation last week at South Somerset Homes’ headquarters at Alvington in Yeovil to promote the products that Impey can supply and the services that South Somerset Works can offer.
The main reasons for the partnering of South Somerset Works and Impey UK are the tried and tested existing products that Impey deliver, along with new and innovative product designs with a fast track ordering process and speedy delivery. The guidance of technical support managers is also highly valued, with built in training programmes for South Somerset Works’ staff.

South Somerset Works provides a one-stop-shop for all aspects of the building industry; carrying out projects within the social housing field and the private sector, delivering maintenance and small works services under a tender or an open book partnership.
Although South Somerset Works’ principal objective is to deliver responsive repairs and planned maintenance for the residents of South Somerset Homes, South Somerset Works also carry out specialist aids and adaptations, ranging from fitting a grab rail to installing a disabled walk-in shower wet room.
One of the main values of South Somerset Works is that they respect and reflect the diversity of their customer’s individual needs. The experienced team of tradesmen are guided by the supervision of the contracts managers, who have a total of sixty years experience in the maintenance industry between them.
Impey is a progressive, expanding company manufacturing and distributing specialist bathroom equipment; they are now nationally respected for innovation in bathing and showering systems, having received several awards recently. These include the ‘Investor in People 2002’ and the Manufacturer’s Award 2005 for Innovation and Design.
Andrew Wheatley closed the presentation with the following statement, “Impey UK are pleased to have partnered with South Somerset Works, as we recognise the exacting standards that they are able to achieve, to ensure our products are fitted according to our instructions and to the benefit of the residents.”
