Find out about South Somerset Homes’ Sparkford plans
12 February 2007
South Somerset Homes is holding a pre-planning information event on Tuesday 20 February between 4.00pm and 7.00pm to tell the community about its proposed development within Sparkford and listen to people’s views.
The proposed scheme comprises eight new dwellings to meet the housing need for the Sparkford parish that was identified within a recent survey by the Parish Council in conjunction with the Rural Housing Enablers from the Rural Community Council.
The planning application is yet to be submitted by South Somerset Homes, but the company will use the information gained from the event to shape the final submission (planned for April 2007). If the company is successful, construction will start in Spring/Summer 2008 for completion Autumn/Winter 2008.
All members of the public are invited to the event, whereby they can meet staff from South Somerset Homes, Calford Seaden (architects for the project), and ROK (who will be constructing the homes). Full plans of the scheme will be available to view plus comment forms for the community to record their views.
Mark Dillon, Development Manager for South Somerset Homes added, “This is a scheme for the village which is being developed in conjunction with the Parish Council. Everyone from the local community will be very welcome to comment on what we are proposing.”
