A sheltered housing scheme in Queen Camel has unveiled its new patio area for the residents. Cleaveside Close Sheltered Housing Scheme, which is owned and managed by South Somerset Homes, has converted an area of grassland into a patio area for all the residents to enjoy.

South Somerset Homes funded the project and the work was carried out by the Horticultural Department at South Somerset District Council through a partnering contract. The residents also received two new benches for their new patio, one of which was donated by the Resident's Social Fund with the other being donated in memory of Vera Hiscock by her husband and family.

Sue Wright, Scheme Manager at Cleaveside Close said, “The residents are absolutely delighted and are looking forward to many cream teas in the sunshine. With the new patio we now have much better access for our residents with wheelchairs. I would also like to say thank you to everyone that has been involved with the project, we are absolutely thrilled.”
