South Somerset Works plumber retires after 45 years service

13 April 2007

South Somerset Works plumber Geoff Pitt will hang up his South Somerset Works van keys at the end of April after an impressive 45 years service.

Geoff, who lives in Wincanton, joined the local Council housing department as a plumbing apprentice on the 26 th April 1962. In 1999 Geoff’s employment transferred to South Somerset Homes, when it took over the local authority housing stock.

Geoff is well regarded by South Somerset Works, and managers describe him as extremely loyal, hardworking and a ‘well above average’ plumber.

Geoff’s hobbies include gardening, music and sport, and he is looking forward to having more time for these activities!
