South Somerset Homes complete makeover at sheltered housing scheme
19 September 2005

South Somerset Homes has recently completed a makeover at their extra care sheltered housing scheme in Wincanton. The scheme at Common Road in Wincanton has had major improvements carried out to its communal room, which was looking rather tired and gloomy. The room has now been redecorated, had new blinds and curtains put up, new carpets laid down and new furniture bought.

To celebrate their improvements being completed the scheme had a coffee morning where they presented a cheque for £500 to the Air Ambulance, money that they had raised through previous coffee mornings.

Julia White, Extra Care Scheme Manager said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the works that have been carried out, the communal room is now a bright and airy room which the residents enjoy spending time in. It has made such a difference and we are really delighted.”

South Somerset Homes has also carried out similar improvement works at other sheltered housing schemes including Cleaveside Close Sheltered Housing Scheme in Queen Camel.

Pictured here in the centre is Pam Pike (resident at Common Road) and Julia White (Scheme Manager) presenting a cheque for £500 to Judy Carroll (Air Ambulance) in the newly improved communal room.
