Elvis swings his hips into Laburnum Drive Extra Care Scheme

Elvis swung his hips and put a smile on the faces of residents of Laburnum Drive, Extra Care Sheltered Scheme, Somerton. The party was held on Tuesday 11 th December at 2.30pm all the tenants were invited along with their friends and families. Elvis alias Tim Bassett was dressed in his GI uniform and entertained the tenants, friends and family with hits such as Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog and Blue Suede Shoes, for over an hour. The King’s performance was followed by a raffle with prizes for everyone who attended accompanied with Sherry and buffet tea.
Chris Cole, Relief Scheme Manager at Laburnum Drive said, ‘ We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon singing and dancing with the legendary King of rock and roll; he still is very much alive!’
