South Somerset Homes Internal Auditor is first in the UK to complete Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk

Nikki Hillman, an internal auditor from South Somerset Homes is the first person in the UK to complete the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) new Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk.
Karen Dignan, Deputy President of the Institute of Internal Auditors, presented Nikki Hillman with her certificate at the South Somerset Homes headquarters. Nikki said, "The Certificate helped to develop my auditing skills. I enjoyed doing the Certificate programme and it has resulted in real benefits back at the office.”
Since it's launch in 2003, the Certificate has been recognised as the baseline training for internal auditors. The Certificate combines internal auditing theory and practice and includes workshops on internal auditing, effective delivery of an audit, communication and client-auditor relations and corporate governance and risk management.

Karen Dignan said, "The Certificate's groundbreaking skills modules give participants the confidence to work with clients at all levels and enables them to plan, deliver and complete effective assignments. We believe the Certificate is the first of its kind to fully equip students with the knowledge to understand the role of internal audit and its value in corporate governance and risk management. We would like to congratulate Nikki on her success of being the first person in the UK to obtain this Certificate."
