South Somerset Homes tenants dedicate bench in memory of ‘much loved' tenant
20 December 2004
Sat on the bench are some of the residents of Pitway, South Petherton. Behind the bench to the left are some more residents from Pitway and to the right are the family of Renee Rigby.
A group of South Somerset Homes' tenants have dedicated a memorial bench in memory of ‘much loved' tenant Renee Rigby who passed away earlier in the year. The family of Renee Rigby purchased the bench, which is at Pitway Sheltered Housing Scheme in South Petherton, and the Area Tenants Panel installed the bench via the Environmental Improvements budget, a budget that is held by the Area Tenants Panel in that area.
The family of Renee Rigby attended a short presentation at Pitway where the tenants officially handed over the bench to the family of Renee. David Andrews, Housing Manager at South Somerset Homes said, "This was a lovely gesture from both the family of Renee and the tenants at Pitway sheltered housing scheme. The Area Tenants Panels who hold the Environmental Improvements budget are able to fund various types of community based projects like this and are keen to encourage tenants to approach them with ideas for future projects."
South Somerset Homes are always looking for new members to join the Area Tenant Panels. For further information please call Karen Davy on 01935 404606.
