South Somerset Homes' garages
18 June 2003
A sheltered housing scheme in Barwick near Yeovil is to hold an auction to raise funds for trips for its elderly residents. The sheltered housing scheme, which is owned and managed by South Somerset Homes, has had many items donated to them by local businesses. Some of the items to be auctioned include toasters, kettles, picture frames, saucepans, carpets and much more.
The auction will take place at the scheme on Friday 23 May 2003; viewing starts at 2.00pm with the auction starting promptly at 6.00pm with the Vicar David Gent as the auctioneer. There will be a hamburger/hot dog stall, tea and coffee plus St Margaret's Hospice will have a stall there.
Pam Durston, Scheme Manager said “We want to raise as much money as possible so that we can take our residents on more days out plus we want to raise funds for their Christmas meal. I would like to thank all the local businesses for giving us such wonderful items to auction, without their help and support we would not be able to have the auction.”
So come along, everyone is welcome, help raise money so the sheltered housing scheme can take its residents on many more enjoyable days out to the seaside! Call 01935 428927 for directions!
