22 August 2005
A tenant of South Somerset Homes who lives at Westcombe in Templecombe is absolutely thrilled with the recent PRC refurbishment and improvement works that have been undertaken to her home. Joyce Curtis who is 71 years of age has lived at her home in Westcombe for more than 32 years.
The works undertaken included refurbishment of the external walls to remove the PRC aspect of the property; improvement of the kitchen layout and installing new fitted kitchen units; a bathroom suite; new double glazed windows; electric central heating and re-wiring of the whole property. Joyce Curtis’ children also helped with the internal painting and decorating.

Improvement works have been undertaken to 3 properties in Westcombe and 5 properties in Bowden Road with the whole project taking 30 weeks to complete. The construction company which carried out the work for South Somerset Homes was Bluestone, which has local offices in Yeovil.
Joyce Curtis explained that the workmen had been absolutely brilliant whilst working in her home. “I want to say a big thank you to the workmen for the wonderful work they have done. They were clean, courteous, polite, willing and thorough. I would especially like to say a special thank you to Dick Wythe, the Site Foreman who was always so kind and helpful.”
