South Somerset Homes sheltered schemes open their doors
24 April 2007
Two of South Somerset Homes sheltered schemes joined together and hosted a very successful open day last Tuesday.
The event was held at Parsonage Close scheme in Somerton, where visitors could speak to residents and managers of the Somerton and Langport schemes and to Jo Elliott, one of the company’s Housing Officers. Some residents opened their homes for viewing.

South Somerset Homes has over 50 older people’s schemes. Sheltered housing comprises one & two bedroom bungalows and one-bedroom flats. They all have a community alarm system and communal lounge where residents can enjoy many varied activities. Sheltered housing enables residents to enjoy their own personal security and independence. When support is needed, it is available from the Scheme Manager.
Sue Drummond and Sue Williams, Managers at the two schemes said, “We all put a lot of work into planning the day and the residents were delighted to have the opportunity to display their arts & crafts skills (including wood turning, needlework, painting and home baking). We would like to thank partner agencies for attending the Open Day”.
