SSH listens to residents views about its Townsend Marston Magna development
24 November 2006

South Somerset Homes recently held a successful information session to unveil its plans for development in Townsend, Marston Magna.

The event was well attended by the local community. The company unveiled its plans for 10 new units (for rent and shared ownership) showing the layout and proposed elevations. The new houses will have their own parking as part of the scheme but there will be a number of additional spaces required.

John Shaw, Planning Development Manager and Jay Lambe, Development Manager for the scheme were on hand with Housing Officer, Nicola Smith and Housing Trainee, Lily Butler to answer questions.

Jay Lambe said, 'I am delighted that so many people came to see us and discuss the proposals. I think this was a very worthwhile exercise for us'.

John Shaw added 'It’s great when the community get involved. The input we received was very useful and we will be incorporating the suggestions made where we can.'

It is hoped that this scheme, which has the support of the Housing Corporation and Local Authority Housing, will be submitted for planning approval before the end of the year, with a start on site April 2007.

For more information about the development please contact Nicola Smith on 01935 404007.
