South Somerset Homes tenants, Henry and Vera Long are thrilled with the refurbishment works that have been undertaken to their home in Furzehill, Chard. Mr and Mrs Long, who moved to Furzehill in 1953, have lived at their house in Furzehill since 1961.

The works undertaken included installing new fitted kitchen cupboards; a bathroom suite comprising of a new shower cubicle; gas central heating; double-glazing and re-wiring of the whole property.

Improvement works have been undertaken to forty-eight properties at Furzehill with the whole project taking eighteen months to complete. The contractor who carried out the work for South Somerset Homes was Yeovil based Rok Build.

Mr and Mrs Long explained that the workmen had been absolutely brilliant whilst working in their home. “We want to say a big thank you to the workmen for the marvellous work they have done and a special thank you to Dennis Adams who was always so helpful and charming.”
