New South Somerset Homes' development welcomed in Castle Cary
27 April 2007
A new South Somerset Homes development at Greenway Road in Castle Cary was officially opened by Cllr Emma Bourne and Cllr Peter Davies today.
The new development (constructed in partnership with Connaught, Calfordseaden and Frame UK) consists of 12 brand new homes for rent. The homes include 2, 3 and 4 bedroom designs and all boast double-glazing, fully fitted kitchens and wardrobes, downstairs cloakrooms plus adjacent parking.
Cllr Emma Bourne and Cllr Peter Davies have both been instrumental with the development and Cllr Bourne commented, “I am very proud to celebrate the completion of this South Somerset Homes development. These affordable homes are vital for local families within Castle Cary and the region as a whole; and I wish the families every happiness for the future”.
The residents are delighted with their new homes, and one commented “My new home is fantastic. The area is so quiet and the homes are very comfortable with a downstairs cloakroom and plenty of car parking. I shall be very happy here”.
Geoff Atkinson, Chief Executive of South Somerset Homes added, “This is a great development for Castle Cary. South Somerset Homes has enjoyed a tremendous year, with over 200 new affordable homes completed; helping local families stay within rural communities”.
Connaught 's Operations Director for the South-West, Peter Lawrence added, “We believe that people should feel something good is happening in their lives when we arrive. Each home meets the highest standards for insulation using renewable
materials; this will ensure homes are safe, warm and economical to run for many years to come. We hope that residents enjoy their new homes.”
