South Somerset Homes, Connaught Property Services and Rok have this week signed a multi million pound agreement to take the refurbishment of its homes to the next level. The agreement, which is worth £36 million, demonstrates that South Somerset Homes will exceed the Governments new ‘Decent Homes Standard’ that all housing associations have a requirement to meet.

South Somerset Homes already has several partnering agreements in place with both Connaught Property Services and Rok in the areas of gas servicing and development. This partnering agreement will be for 6 years and will primarily deliver improvement works such as better kitchens and new central heating.

Geoff Atkinson, Chief Executive at South Somerset Homes said, “Our track record with our partners leaves us sure that we can further accelerate progress to achieve previously unknown standards in property maintenance in respect of quality, cost, timeliness and especially customer satisfaction.”

Mike Roberts, Regional Director at Connaught, commented: "We are delighted to be extending our existing relationship with South Somerset Homes through this agreement. Connaught will continue its investment in local training and recruitment which will not only benefit the local community but also ensure it maintains the high levels of service that SSH have come to expect.”
