MP David Laws opens new communal room at
sheltered scheme
31 October 2005

MP David Laws visited Kents Lane Sheltered Housing Scheme in Tatworth, near Chard to officially open their new communal room. Kents Lane Housing Scheme, which is owned and managed by South Somerset Homes, hosted a tea party to celebrate the official opening of their new room.

The scheme at Kents Lane in Tatworth has had major improvements carried out to its communal room, which is now double the size of the existing room and has been redecorated, had new blinds and curtains put up, new carpets laid down and new furniture bought.

Georgine Stormont, Scheme Manager said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the works that have been carried out, the communal room is now a bright and airy room which the residents enjoy spending time in. It has made such a difference and we are really delighted.

I would also like to say a special thank you to Asda in Yeovil, Stokes, Somerfield and the Co-op in Chard for the wonderful gifts they contributed to the scheme.”
