Housing Benefit

Housing benefit is help towards paying your rent. If you are receiving income support or have a low wage, you may be entitled to some help.

To claim housing benefit you must fill in a form, which is available from your local South Somerset Homes housing office or by post from South Somerset District Council's Housing Benefit Section at the Brympton Way Offices, Yeovil, BA20 2HT Tel (01935) 462462.

Housing benefit cannot normally be backdated so it is important that you claim as soon as you think you might be entitled. If you delay you will almost certainly lose benefit.
