Employee Development

South Somerset Homes has an excellent record of training and developing its employees. As an Investor in People, we understand that people are the organisation's most valuable asset and how important it is for us all to have the right 'tools' to do the job effectively.

We promote the achievement of formal qualifications such as CIH, CIOB, NVQ's, First Aid, to name but a few.

As well as having an annual performance review, our employees are encouraged to keep training records and engage with their manager to ensure that their training needs are met throughout the year.

The Company holds an annual staff conference as well as other training events that are designed to improve communication, education and understanding.

We are the first housing association in the South West to have trained all our employees in recognising and dealing with elder abuse.
