Falling Behind With Your Rent

Please contact the Debt Prevention & Recovery Team as soon as you have any problems with paying your rent.

If you fail to maintain your payments weekly or in advance and your account falls into arrears, then a letter will be sent asking for immediate payment or to contact us to enable us to assist you in resolving the matter.

It is our policy to make tenants aware at the earliest opportunity of any arrears to ensure they are resolved as quickly as possible.  Failure to resolve arrears either by clearance or arrangement will result in continued action until the matter is resolved.

In very serious cases this can mean possession action being taken.

Specialist Welfare & Benefit Advice is also available from the Debt Prevention & Recovery Team's Welfare & Benefits Officer, Judith Walker.

If you feel you would like one of our officers to visit you at home to discuss your situation, please feel free to contact us.
